Saturday night, they dialed up a two-run homer. Four of them in all. The X's won their second game in as many nights over Gary
SouthShore, the American Association Central Division leaders, 10-6
in front of 1,246 at Lewis and Clark Park. Sioux City clubbed four two-run blasts in the first five innings
and reached the .500 mark at 36-36. The Explorers also picked up
another game on Gary, pulling within seven with over a month left
in the season. Kent Sakamoto, Brett Flowers, Brian Bistagne and Ray Serrano
each connected with a man aboard while Ty Marotz just missed a
complete game on the mound. The Explorers have hit the .500 plateau
for the first time since July 14 (29-29). Marotz, in his sixth season in an Explorers uniform, improved
his record to 6-3, working 8 1/3 innings while spacing six hits,
striking out four and walking four. The LS-3 righthander from
Arizona State University is the franchise's career leader in games
pitched, innings pitched and losses and second with 24 career
victories.

The American theater in French
From Strasbourg is a university town (about 45,000 students, so the largest university in France), there is always plenty of cultural activities and events supported to a younger crowd intellectual. Strasbourg is home to TNS (Théâtre National de Strasbourg) is a large beautiful building, not far from my apartment, and a wide variety of professional plays each season. I had the opportunity to see Don Juam, which was very well done and intriguing, but very difficult for me to understand.
I recently had the opportunity to see a performance of "The Laramie Project" initiated by a student organization of the university. "The Laramie Project" is an American play by Moises Kauffman tells the story of the murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay student at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. I know the story well, since I had seen it done twice in English. I think it helped a lot.
So much culture in France! I love it.
