Mizzou's Ebner sentenced to two days jail time
Missouri linebacker Will Ebner, arrested last summer and charged with a DUI, pleaded guilty Thursday to a reduced charge of minor in possession, his attorney told the Columbia Daily Tribune.
Ebner, 21, was fined $200 and sentenced to two days in jail.
As for football, Ebner, the starting middle linebacker entering fall camp, was suspended the first two games last season and is not expected to receive any further punishment.

A police officer was recently injured after he was struck by a car in the early morning. The officer was on Interstate 70 just west of the Bermuda Drive exit in Normandy, Missouri, with his patrol lights on. Apparently, the officer had pulled over another car and was in the middle of a traffic stop when he was struck by a Ford Escort.
Police have alleged that the owner of the Escort was drunk driving when he hit the officer. It is reported that the driver had drifted off the road when he hit the officer's car. It is unclear whether the car that was involved in the traffic stop was damaged or if its driver was injured. The police officer was taken to a local hospital and treated for moderate injuries. He was subsequently released from the hospital.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the driver continued driving. The driver was eventually pulled over and arrested. Although police have charged the man with driving while intoxicated, it is unclear what his blood-alcohol level was or how much he had allegedly drank that evening. The driver was also accused of leaving the scene of an accident and assaulting a police officer.
Although the officer was released from the hospital, police are holding the driver in the St. Louis County Jail. There are no reports on when and under what conditions the accused will be released.
This alleged drunk driving incident is the second within 24 hours. Police in Pine Lawn, Missouri, reported an alleged drunk driver hit an officer's car while the officer was writing a traffic ticket. The officer involved was injured and taken to the hospital. He was later released. While this driver was also allegedly drunk, he was only charged with assaulting a police officer, not driving while intoxicated.
