Port Orchard police seek man who fled, crashed SUV

PORT ORCHARD — Officers are looking for a man who refused to pull over for officers Monday and is believed to be the subject of several arrest warrants, according to Port Orchard police.

Police commander Geoffrey Marti said an officer tried to pull over a Chevrolet Blazer at about 1:50 p.m. in the area of Bravo Terrace, but the SUV took off. After a chase in which both suspect and officer reached speeds of about 75 mph through Fernwood and onto Berry Lake Road, the officer stopped the pursuit. The officer later found the SUV crashed into a tree and abandoned near the intersection of Berry Lake and Old Clifton roads.

A Kitsap County police dog was unable to find the man, but Marti believes he'll turn up sooner or later.

"Our investigation is showing that it's probably an individual with several warrants and a suspended license," he said.

Anyone with information on the suspects whereabouts is asked to call 911.
