Navy beats Kandy in a Thrilling Contest at Welisara

In what could be described as an enthralling contest in the quest for glory the giant killers of the Caltex A, Division Rugby League Navy Sports Club edged out the high riding Kandy Sports Club by 29 Points (3 Tries, 1 Convertion, 4 Penalties) to 25 Points (4 Tries, 1 Convertion , 1 Penalty) at Welisara on 30th July 2011.The occasion was graced by the presence of the First Lady Madam Shiranthi Rajapaksa , the Navy Commander Vice Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake,Mrs Neluka Dissanayake and senior Naval officers. Throughout the match Navy SC maintained their dominance and at the breather it led at 18-8.

It was a battle between Kandy three quarters and Navy forwards. Navy played to a plan from the very outset and exploited the weaknesses of their opponents to the maximum. Navy SC made sure that their play maker and fly half Dev Anand had a superb outing as he was spot on in both kicking and working the ball as he was instrumental in successfully putting over 3 Goals and 4 Penalties.

In the end Navy SC achieved victory by a margin of four points beating Kandy SC in the closely contested match. This match was refereed by Nizam Jamaldeen, while he was supported by Dinka Peiris and Charitha Kodagoda as assistant referees.

I hated this game. I potentially would have loved it, if it wasn’t for the fact that at one point in the game, I could never progress, because the game ALWAYS crashed. No mattar what I did, no matter if I ran a different copy, ran the game on another computer, it never failed, the game always crashed at the same place, in the swamp looking place close to the cave where the game started. Not when you first go through it, but when you had to come back later in the game. AARRGGH, it pisses me off !

It’s a bit creepy, no more than your average B-movie horror. There’re only two chapters of gore, the rest is constantly poking your face around in stuff. If you don’t feel like playing, you could always check one of the playthroughs on youtube (ADVRipper has a very, VERY full version, I believe. More cutscenes than I ever found on my own!) But it’s not “Give-you-nightmares-forever” scary.

The thing about the elephant warning is from the 3rd Quest for Glory game.

If you left camp (you had to setup a camp to sleep safely in the wilderness) and did not put out the campfire (I had done it once because I ran out of water), you would get a death screen with an elephant with a hat. The whole savanna burnt down because you forgot to put out the campfire.

You are presented with your usual options, but upon doing anything, it would announce it was a fake death and it continues as usual.

The Savanna forest fire thing was a reference to QFG3. Occasionally if you left your camp fire burning, and not putting it out, an elephant version of Smokey the Bear (only you can prevent forest fires) would show up and …. well, anyways, that was the reference. There were various things like that in QFG3 that could show up out of the blue while exploring the map. My favorite was the Waffle. o_O

Lateblt and Hercrabbiness, I just wanted to thank you for doing these. I love these games and its so much fun to watch someone else play them who love them this much too. Also your voices are great.You both did a lot of your other cheek Come, and I look forward to a great series again.

It is strange both funny and most tragic of these games, and I'm glad you play.
